What is Phelophepa?

Phelophepa (pronounced pay-lo-pe-pa) means "good, clean health" and is the name given to a train that delivers primary healthcare to rural South Africa. Please browse our site to learn more about the Phelophepa cause.

The Train of Hope has reached over 2.4M individuals since 1994.

In 2006 Phelophepa received recognition from the Government Innovators Network.

In 2008 Phelophepa received the prestigious United Nations Public Administration Network Award for improving the delivery of services.

The American Friends of the Phelophepa train is a registered 501(c)(3) public charity whose mission is to raise awareness and support in the U.S. for the Phelophepa health care train in South Africa.
